9: What is the difference between the two types of hinged systems on the fridge/freezers, slider system versus door on door?

Of the two types of hinge systems, the slider system is the most common. This is where the wooden kitchen cabinet door which conceals the fridge or freezer, hinges on the unit that houses the fridge. The slider refers to a small rail that is screwed to the cabinet door, which a bracket on the fridge slides across as the door is opened and closed. The door on door method does away with the need for hinges on the fridge housing unit. The wooden cabinet door is mounted on the fridge door using a bracket. By doing away with the need for hinges the fridge/freezer can be wider.
